We will start from the San Pedro Cholula Zocalo. Our guide on board will tell you the story of this Magical Town, the oldest in America that has been constantly inhabited.
In this panoramic tour you will pass through San Pedro Cholula: The Extraordinary “Plaza de la Concordia”, The Ex-Convent of San Gabriel, The Royal Chapel, The Magical Pyramid of Cholula.
In San Andrés Cholula you will meet: stop at the “Zócalo” to visit the “Parroquia de San Andrés”, the Temples of Santa María Tonanzintla and San Francisco Acatepec. On board the tram we will pass through different neighborhoods and you will be able to admire its temples from the outside: San Andresito, Santa María Cuaco, among others.
This tour is very flexible: if you want to make the complete visit, we have the option with a certified guide that will accompany you during all the time to visit the largest Pyramid in the world in terms of the size of its basement, Site Museum, Ex-Convent of San Gabriel and Royal Chapel.
The Cholula tram takes you to this Magical Town. Its foundation dates back to 500 BC. It was precisely the Toltecs who formed the largest ceremonial center of Anahuac here, turning Cholula into the “Sacred City” and where the pyramid with the largest base in the world is located. On board our tram “El General” (two stories and discovered) or “La Enamorada”, inspired by María Félix with panoramic windows and one story. Our guide will accompany you and will narrate live the history and legends of this sacred city. We start the tour passing by the “Zócalo de San Pedro Pedro Cholula”, and the Great Pyramid (at the end of the tour you will have free time to visit it on your own) and continuing to the Parish of San Andrés Cholula. Here we will make a brief stop to visit the temple. Optional stop at the Francisco Peláez Ethnobotanical Garden (admission not included) where you can hold a workshop on medicinal, culinary or aromatherapy plants. Later, we continue to the Temple of San Francisco Acatepec, a religious monument characteristic of the Baroque architecture of Mexico, especially recognized for its mosaic facade of the “Talavera de Puebla”. You can also visit a “Talavera” workshop. We continue to visit an architectural jewel of Mexico: the Temple of Santa María Tonanzintla decorated inside the temple corresponds to the baroque indigenous or baroque novohispano style consisting of an exuberant decoration with indigenous motifs, such as angels with plumes of feathers, with garlands of flowers , with attire of eagle knight and with indigenous features, fruits and plants. All this shows a mixture between the pre-Hispanic world and the Christian world. We board the tram again to continue our panoramic tour passing through several temples of the “Barrios de Cholula” to end in the “Zócalo de San Pedro Cholula”. Here you will have free time to visit on your own the Ex-convent of San Gabriel and the Royal Chapel, the Great Pyramid of Cholula as well as enjoy the local cuisine.
